Local Aboriginal Land Council members in the North Coast Region returned to the polls on Saturday December 11, 2010 to elect a councillor.
The election came about in August due to the New South Wales Court of Appeal directing the NSW Election Commission to run a fresh election in the North Coast Region to fill the vacancy of a disqualified Councillor.
December 11 saw the voting members of Lalcs in the North Coast Region elect a new representative to the NSWALCs Governing Council.
Saturday's by-election was conducted by the New South Wales Electoral Commission in accordance with the provisions of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 And the Aboriginal Land Rights Regulation 2002.
As a result of the vote on Saturday 11 December, and the subsequent distribution of preferences, the Electoral Commission has declared Mr. Dallas Donnelly the duly elected NSWALC Councillor for the North Coast Region.
