NSWALC THANKS MARKHAM FOR SUPPORT

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council today expressed disappointment that the Member of Wollongong, Colin Markham, did not win pre-selection for the next year's election.

Chairperson of the NSWALC, Les Trindall, said Mr Markham had been a great supporter of Aboriginal people in his 15 years in Parliament, both as the Opposition spokesperson for Aboriginal Affairs and as the Parliamentary Secretary for Aboriginal Affairs with the current Government.

"I would like to publicly thank Colin for his years of commitment to Aboriginal people and express the appreciation felt by the NSW Aboriginal Land Council and, I think, all Aboriginal people of this State, for the commitment he has shown our people over the years," Chairperson Trindall said.
