CEO OF NSWALC REMOVED
The Chief Executive Officer of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council, Mr Jeffrey
Bradford, was removed from office following a resolution of the NSW Aboriginal
Land Council at a meeting today.
The motion for his removal was carried by eleven of the 12 NSWALC councillors
present at the meeting.
"The working relationship between the Council and the CEO has been
breaking down for some time and it has come to the point where this action
was required," Chairperson of NSWALC, Les Trindall said today.
Chairperson Trindall said that the matter had been reported to the Minister
for Aboriginal Affairs, Dr Andrew Refshauge.
A full staff meeting had also been held to formally brief and reassure
the staff that the administration would continue to operate as usual,
with an interim CEO being appointed as soon as possible.
