Call for nominations for Legends of Land Rights Honour Roll

The Aboriginal Land Rights movement as we know it today could not have been made possible without the hard work and sacrifice of our Land Rights Legends.

At next month's Statewide Conference, we will again honour the legacy of those in the network who have passed away.

To help us compile an accurate list, NSWALC is asking Local Aboriginal Land Councils to nominate the names (and photos where possible) of any Land Rights Legends who have passed on since the previous Honour Roll was shown at the 2013 Statewide Conference.

The Honour Roll will consist of a short film to be played at the Statewide Conference, which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley on August 17 to 20.

To ensure the Legends of Land Rights Honour Roll can be updated in time for conference, could you please send your nominations by close of business, Friday 7 August to NSWALC's Media and Communications Unit by email to media@alc.org.au or by calling 9689 4429.

Acknowledgement

We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of the lands where we work as well as across the lands we travel through. We also acknowledge our Elders past, present and emerging.
