New Acting Director for Far Western Zone

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council welcomes Chloe Bennett as Acting Zone Director of the Far Western Zone.

Chloe is the first woman to act on a long-term basis in a vacant Zone Director position.

She replaces Ross Hampton, who is taking up the challenge of working at Mallee District Aboriginal Services in Mildura as an Executive Director.

Chloe is a Barkandji woman with family in Wilcannia who joined the Far Western Zone last year after two years with Aboriginal Affairs NSW.

"I'm looking forward to helping Local Aboriginal Land Councils and supporting their economic development opportunities.

"When I first started with NSWALC I enjoyed getting out there and meeting the Board members and LALCs. Now I'm looking forward to being able to further build those relationships.

"Ross Hampton has been a great mentor and will definitely be missed. It's clear that he is held in high regard by LALCs."

Ross acknowledges the Network, particularly the Far Western Zone and all the friendships he has made over the past five years and thanks the elected Council, Executive and all NSWALC staff for their support.

"I'm proud of the achievements that are being delivered through NSWALC and the Network around Land Rights and hope that during those five years I've contributed in some small manner to those outcomes."
